SM Malls in Marilao, San Jose Del Monte, Pulilan, and Baliwag joined the COMELEC’s synchronized registration to speed up application and accommodate more voter applicants days before the September 30 registration deadline.

The Commission on Elections and SM Supermalls recently launched 76 satellite COMELEC Voter Registration centers at the SM Supermalls to provide voters with more registration venues. This will run in SM Supermalls nationwide until Sept 30.  Shown during the launch at the SM Mall of Asia are COMELEC Commissioner Aimee Ferolino (center) joined by (from left to right) COMELEC Director IV for Election and Barangay Affairs Department Atty. Divine E. Blas-Perez, COMELEC Director IV for Education and Information James Jimenez, SM Supermalls President Steven Tan and SM Supermalls SVP for Operations Bien Mateo. SM Supermalls is providing free space and waived charges to essential conveniences so they can efficiently operate the registration centers.

The opening of satellite COMELEC Voter Registration centers at the SM Supermalls will not only provide voters with more registration venues but will also give the public a safer, more convenient option amidst the prevailing COVID health crisis.

Personnel of the Commission on Election in SM City Marilao Satellite Voter Registration Center attends and captures the biometrics of an applicant during synchronized voter’s registration in the mall. The Biometrics Data Capture is a mandatory registration process declared in R.A10367 to establish clean, complete, permanent and updated list of voters.

To ensure health protocols are observed in satellite registration sites, COMELEC will cater to at least 200 voter applicants a day in SM City Marilao and SM Center Pulilan and 150 applicants a day for SM Malls in Baliwag and San Jose Del Monte.

The Commission on Elections is encouraging all qualified voters to register and participate in the upcoming 2022 National and Local Elections. Registration is open to new voters, transfer applications from outside or within the city or town, reactivation, correction of entry by virtue of marriage, or misspelled name. Registrants may also download and accomplish the application forms and health declaration card from the COMELEC website to affix their signatures and have their biometrics captured when they go to the registration venue.

SM Supermalls has 76 satellite COMELEC Voter Registration centers nationwide and will run until September 30. Through the inked partnership with the Commission on Elections, SM Supermalls is providing free space and waived charges to essential conveniences so they can efficiently operate the registration centers.

SM City Baliwag joins COMELEC synchronized mall registration that targets to speed up application of Baliwag voters may it be new, transfer, for reactivation, correction of entry by virtue of marriage, or misspelled name.
