Department of Energy - PELMATP - UNDP Supports WCYF 2009

DOE - PELMATP - UNDP The Department of Energy through the Philippine Efficient Lighting Market Transformation Project (PELMATP) announced its formal support for the World Creative Youth Forum (WCYF) 2009. The project will provide green bags for participant and P10,000 seed fund to help the event. The DOE - PELMATP - UNDP joins the growing list of organizations who are supporting and endorsing the event. The Philippine Efficient Lighting Market Transformation Project (PELMATP) is a five-year project led by the Department of Energy (DOE) with support from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The Project aims to address the barriers on the widespread utilization of energy efficient lighting (EEL) systems in the Philippines and the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to the environment.   It is expected that at the end of the 2nd-yr, total GHG emissions due to the lighting sector will be reduced by 4% and 11%.  Read more about this project at their official website

This help and support boost the organizing committees effort to call on people to come together and realize a forum which would unite the youth from around the world and mainstream Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in support of the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development from 2005 - 2014.
